Arthur S. Leon, MD, MS, FACC, FACSM, has had an extremely impressive career that began in 1957 after receiving his medical degree University of Wisconsin Medical School. He then went on to complete his internship in 1958 at Henry Ford Hospital, and his residency in 1960 at the Lahey Clinic. While finishing school and establishing a career in medicine, Dr. Leon served the country as a Medical officer, US Army Reserve from 1957 to 1991; obtaining highest rank, Colonel MC. His list of accomplishments continue with his copious publications that include: about 200 articles in refereed professional journals, 50 book chapters, 126 published abstracts, and primary co-author or editor on 2 books. He has also been an active professor for many years at the University of Minnesota, teaching graduate students exercise science. Over the decades Dr. Leon has become a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. His outstanding career is still thriving; he is the Chief cardiologist of the Heart Disease Prevention Clinic and Director of Laboratory of Physiological Hygiene and Exercise Science, in Minnesota.
