Get to know Internist & Pediatrician Dr. Alan R. Vinitsky, who serves patients in Rockville, Maryland.

Dr. Vinitsky is a board certified internist & pediatrician. He is currently serving patients at Enlightened Medicine in Rockville, Maryland, which he established in 2001. There, he goes above and beyond to find the root cause of what is ailing his patients. Based on an in-depth physical, described symptoms, and a detailed questionnaire filled out by the patient, Dr. Vinitsky will determine the necessary testing needed in order to find the best solution for that specific patient. 

Dr. Vinitsky is also affiliated with Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center – a 266-licensed bed acute care facility located in Rockville, Maryland.

Dr. Vinitsky earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 1974. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, followed by his residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Vinitsky has a special interest in environmental medicine – a multidisciplinary field involving medicine, environmental science, chemistry and others, overlapping with environmental pathology. In fact, he is a member of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine.

Dr. Vinitsky is a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, the Maryland State Medical Society, and the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. He is also a life member of the National Registry of Who’s Who.

Dr. Vinitsky is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Additionally, Dr. Vinitsky is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence.
