Edward Diao, MD, received his medical degree in 1981 from Columbia University School of Medicine. Upon completion of his degree, Dr. Diao finished his internship at Beth Israel, Harvard Medical School in 1983, his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in 1987 and training in a hand surgery fellowship in 1988 at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital at Columbia University in New York, New York. Since beginning his career, Diao has become a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand; he credits his success to treating patients how he would like to be treated. Dr. Diao commits much of his time to lobbying nationally for support of biomedical research and health care with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Research Society, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Today he practices orthopaedic surgery in San Francisco, California.
