Edward G. Magur, MD, received his medical degree in 1998 from Upstate Medical University at Syracuse, in New York. He then attended Georgetown University Hospital until 1999 for his residency, followed by a fellowship at the Foot and Ankle Center for Orthopedic Care, in Cincinnati, Ohio until 2004. Since beginning his career, Dr. Magur has been an active member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and the Washington Orthopedic Society. He is a team physician/orthopaedic consultant for the Washington Wizards and the Washing Capitals; he practices orthopaedic surgeries at Washington Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, in Washington, DC.

  • How long do you need to be off work after bunion surgery?

    It depends on the type of bone cuts that are required. Typically, it is 4-6 weeks non-weight bearing (some docs allow heel only WB) and you can generally expect to improve for several months after surgery. I tell my patients it is a full year before they stop getting better. READ MORE
