Jorge Bordenave, MD, obtained his medical degree in 1986 from the Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Bordenave continued his medical training in the United States, attending St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York for both his internship and residency; followed by a fellowship in cardiology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. Bordenave's medical career has seen numerous achievements including being a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Fellow of the American Institute of Medicine, Fellow of the American College Quality Assurance and Utilization Management; being recognized for Heart/Stroke in Patient Care and Diabetes in Patient Care by the National Council on Quality Assurance for 2007 to 2013, 'Compassionate Doctor' and 'Patients Choice Award' by Vitals.com in 2010. Interest in medicine and love for his work, he says, are instrumental to his success. Today, he practices cardiology in Coral Gables, Florida; he also teaches at Florida International University College of Medicine and at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic medicine.
