Specializing in general and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Shiao is the owner of Expert Dental N.Y.C. in New York City, New York. Her philosophy is to provide treatment to the whole person – with a special focus on how the teeth and gums relate to total body health.
She provides all aspects of dental care, including periodic dental check up, dental cleaning, white cosmetic filling, teeth whitening, root canal treatment, dental crowns, dental bridges, surgical and prosthetic implants, braces, veneers, onlays, inlays, dentures, and more. She is also certified as an Invisalign and ClearCorrect provider to perform clear aligner therapy.
Born in Taiwan and growing up in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Shiao completed her undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of California at Los Angeles. Subsequently, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. Thereafter, she completed the General Practice Residency (GPR) program at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Following her education, Dr. Shiao completed two years training in an implant program at the New York University College of Dentistry. In addition, she spent two years continuing education in orthodontics training sponsored by IAO/AOS.
For the purpose of advancing her efforts, she remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Second District Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (Fellow), the International Association of Orthodontics, the New York Academy of Oral Rehabilitation, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
