Get to know Radiologist Dr. Michael Jay Alboucrek, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

A board-certified radiologist specializing in breast imaging, Dr. Alboucrek joined North Broward Radiologists, PA, Inc. in 1982. He sees patients at Broward General Medical Center, North Broward Medical Center, Imperial Point Medical Center, Coral Springs Medical Center, and Broward Health Weston.

In his current roles, he serves as Chief of Breast Imaging, Senior Active Staff at Broward Health, and Imaging Director of the Breast Cancer Care Multidisciplinary Conference.

Previously, he served as Vice-Chief of Interventional Radiology, Co-Chairman of the Medical Education Committee, Member of the Credentials/Qualifications Committee, and Radiation Safety Officer.

Completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at the State University of NY at Binghamton in 1974, Dr. Alboucrek earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1977. He then relocated to California where he completed his internship, residency in radiology, and fellowship in nuclear medicine & interventional radiology at the Keck Medical Center of USC in 1978, 1981, and 1982, respectively. 

As a testament of his continued education, he attained board certification in diagnostic radiology and nuclear radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in 1982. The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Furthermore, in 1983, he attained board certification in nuclear medicine through the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, which certifies physicians as specialists in the practice of nuclear medicine.

Radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A radiologist is a physician who uses imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.
