He is the winner of “The Compassionate Physician Award” and “The Patient’s Choice Award” which are accolades bestowed by those patients he has served. Dr. Arcos is also listed in the “Leading Physicians of the World,” which is a list limited to the top one to two percent of all physicians. Dr. Arcos is a member of the editorial board of the internationally recognized professional journal “Pain Physician”. He is recognized by his peers as a leader in the field of pain medicine, and has been elected to leadership positions in state pain societies and serves on the Board of Directors of Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Arcos is board certified in anesthesiology with a subspecialty qualification in pain medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. He was also selected as a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Arcos completed a two-year military training program in pain medicine, and was awarded the United States Air Force Commendation Medal for contributions in the area of pain management. He has held faculty appointments at Florida State University College of Medicine, University of Florida College of Medicine, Nova Southeastern University of Health Sciences and University of Miami School of Medicine. It was during Dr. Arcos’ tenure at the University of Florida College of Medicine that he coordinated, directed and implemented all (anesthesia) resident training in pain medicine. As Chief of Anesthesiology at two institutions, he has managed allopathic colleagues in the areas of anesthesiology and interventional pain management. He is currently accepting new patients and with a great combination of compassion, understanding, and excellent diagnostic and technical skill Dr. Arcos comes highly regarded by his patients and his peers.

With over 30 years of experience in anesthesiology and pain medicine, Dr. Arcos is one of the areas most experienced and influential interventional pain physicians. Dr. Arcos completed a two- year military training program in pain medicine at the USAF Regional Hospital Homestead and was awarded the United Air Force Commendation Medal for contributions in pain medicine.

Recognized by his peers as a leader in the field of pain medicine, Dr. Arcos has served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He has held faculty appointments at the Florida State University College of Medicine, the University of Florida College of Medicine, the Nova Southeastern University of Health Sciences, and the University of Miami School of Medicine. During his tenure at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Arcos directed all resident education in pain medicine and was appointed Medical Director of the South Georgia/North Florida Veterans Healthcare System, where he transformed the pain program into a nationally recognized model for comprehensive patient care

After completing a fellowship in Bioethics at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Arcos was named the American Osteopathic Association nominee to The President’s Council on Bioethics.

Dr. Arcos is a member of the Editorial Board of the internationally acclaimed journal, Pain Physician, as well as Interventional Pain Reports. Dr. Arcos is one of the most innovative physicians in Florida, performing the Vertiflex procedure for spinal stenosis, Disc FX for minimally invasive discectomy, Wireless spinal cord stimulation with StimWave, and Intracept for axial lumbar back pain.
