Get to know periodontist Miriam Ting MD, BDS, MS, DICOI, DABP of Think Oral Implants and Periodontics and the Founder and Director of the Think Dental Learning Institute.

Dr. Ting is a highly respected periodontist specializing in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement of dental implants. Dr. Ting has expertise in the treatment of oral inflammation and often treats problematic periodontal cases, such as those with severe gum disease or a complex medical history.

Dr. Ting has a well rounded educational background. She earned her degree from the National University of Singapore in Singapore. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a DMD, from the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. The Kornberg School of Dentistry promotes health and wellness through the comprehensive education of specialty dentists providing compassionate, comprehensive, patient-centered, evidence-based and outcome-driven oral health care.

Dr. Ting also has a MS in Craniofacial Biology from University of Southern California. She completed a certificate program in Advanced Periodontology, as well.

Dr. Ting is the Founder and Director of the Think Dental Learning Institute. The institute provides evidence-based continuing education to aid doctors of dentistry the ability to provide the very best patient care. There is significant focus on applying what is learned from lectures and textbooks and applying it to their dental practice to make better clinicians. Participants are encouraged to interact and learn together.

She has had faculty appointments at University of Southern California, Nova Southeastern University, University of Pittsburgh and Temple University.

Dr. Ting is board certified by the American Board of Periodontology as well as the International Congress of Oral Implantologists; She is a member of the following professional organizations: International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics (IADFE), Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration (DVAO), Chester and Delaware County Dental Society, International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), American  Academy of Periodontology (AAP), American Dental Association (ADA) and the PA Dental Association (PDA)

The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Dr. Ting was named Outstanding Dental Student in Implant Dentistry Award by the Academy of Osseointegration. She is a recipient of multiple Top Doctor awards as well as a leading member of the International Association of Healthcare Professional.

Additionally, Dr. Ting has published numerous research and review papers, systematic reviews, and textbook chapters on periodontal microbiology and dental implant rehabilitation in peer-reviewed journals such as Periodontology 2000, Journal of Oral Implantology, Implant Dentistry, Compendium, Journal of Periodontal Research and European Journal of Oral Sciences.

Dr. Ting participates in her community and volunteers at the dental clinic of Community Volunteers in Medicine. She also spends time outside of her work on platform and paddle Tennis as well as golfing.
