  • Will acupuncture help with knee pain?

Acupuncture works very well for knee pain. Unless there is a functional problem such as a break for complete severed ligament, etc. Needles will usually be placed into the knee, but sometimes can be placed in other areas. Depends on the situation. I wouldn't hesistate to go... READ MORE

  • Is acupuncture safe for people with hemophilia?

I think this depends on how severe your bleeding is. I have treated those on warfarin and blood thinners without any problem. But, really depends on you. Otherwise, it should be safe. There are other non-needle tools we can use too, if there is a problem with using needles. Still worth it to consult with one of us. READ MORE

  • Is acupuncture safe?

The short answer, acupuncture is great for treating all sorts of pain. And if you seek out a Licensed Acupuncturist, it is also safe. It would be worth a session to find out. READ MORE

  • I take blood thinners regularly. Is acupuncture dangerous for me?

No. I have treated people that are on warfarin and other thinners. I haven't had any issues at all. Please make sure your practitiioner is aware and extra caution will be applied to your treatment. READ MORE

  • Does acupuncture raise blood pressure?

I would suspect that her nerves or medications might have caused it. But, I wouldn't rule it out. Acupuncture, for most, will bring down the blood pressure. But, depending on the points selected for her treatment, it could have made things move too much or too fast for them. I would also to make sure you or your friend is getting treated by a Licensed Acupuncturist. Sometimes those with less training can have effects like that happen. READ MORE

  • What can acupuncture do for the muscles?

It can calm them. I would probably also recommend a good Magnesium supplement. There can be many reasons for the muscles to spasm. So an exam may shed more light as to why. READ MORE

  • Are acupressure mats safe?

I have not had any experience with that and cannot offer any advice. Acupuncture and our other tools are a great way to help to alleviate back pain. I would recommend that over a gadget. READ MORE

  • How long do the effects of acupuncture last?

The effects are very individualized. It may take a few weeks of treatments once a week, but after than it will get less often. I treat a few with RA in the hands, most come in for maintenance every 3-5 weeks. It keeps them going in their day to day living. READ MORE

  • How long does an acupuncture last usually?

Well our first visit together takes up to 1 1/2 hours and then follow ups last about an hour. Now that is how I operate. Others may vary from me. Some offer community style and could take much less time. I prefer to get to know you and work deeply on the problems, using more than acupuncture. I do muscle work and sometimes cupping. READ MORE

  • How can acupuncture treat addiction?

Addiction is hard, no way around that fact. Our medicine helps to bring balance back to the body to help it cope better. I use herbs and supplements also to make sure the body is well nourished. Acupuncture can help to calm the stress that goes along with the detox process as well. Not a guarantee like the rest. The person also has to be ready and committed to quitting. Without that, there will always be set backs. READ MORE

  • Can acupuncture treat my digestive disorders?

Yes, but I also implement herbal and/or supplements to heal the gut. Without your specific condition I can't speak specifically, but our medicine is great in lots of situations like this, those that western medicine can't help. READ MORE

  • Where are the acupuncture points for fertility?

We treat you as an individual and to your diagnosis, so hard to say. My usual areas are hands, feet, belly, and/or legs. All depends on you and the practitioner. READ MORE

  • Is acupuncture a better alternative to opioids?

Always a good choice. It is good to help with pain, but also healing and balancing the body. Highly recommend it for you! READ MORE

  • Are acupuncture needles reused?

Well I can't speak for all practitioners, but yes, we are trained and abide by our license to only use the one-time use needles. It's expensive and time consuming to sterilize needles. You can ask the practitioner. If they have a sharps container, and needles in a package, it should be safe to assume they aren't reusing them. READ MORE

  • Is it normal to feel lethargic after my session?

It can happen. The session might have been too "heavy" or combination of needles wasn't the best for that day. Make sure you communicate that with your practitioner so they can reassess their treatment plan. READ MORE

  • How often should I go for acupuncture?

Chronic pain is hard. It takes many years to get it there and can take a while to get it back in shape. I've seen some once a week for a year before we can back off on treatments. Some much less. Everyone is different, different constitution, situation, trauma, health, etc. Be patient and work with your practitioner. Get dietary recommendations, herbs, exercises and more to help you regain your health and strength. READ MORE

  • How many points are there in acupuncture?

I don't remember the actual number. But between different types of practices there are over a thousand different points. We have 14 meridians that have our standard/ traditional points. Then there are ear points, master tung points, and Korean hand therapy points. The number keeps growing. READ MORE

Yes. This is one therapy that can help with neuropathy. I wouldn't wait. READ MORE

  • Why is acupuncture suggested for fertility?

Yes, TCM or traditional Chinese medicine looks at the body as a whole. We work on rebalancing hormones and body processes. Using acupuncture, herbs, and dietary therapy, we can accomplish those goals. Chiropractic is another avenue that works great in concert with TCM. I have firsthand experience with both after a long history with infertility. I know it works.
