Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Brooke R. Glessing, who serves patients in Ohio.

Dr. Glessing is a highly trained gastroenterologist. She is the Director of Endoscopy at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center & the Medical Director of the Digestive Health Institute at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center. 

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is a major not-for-profit medical complex in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Since 1986, it has been an affiliate hospital of Case Western Reserve University.

University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center, which opened in 2011, is a community hospital focused on patient and family-centered care and the tenets of evidence-based design. UH’s Digestive Health Institute is a national leader in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of digestive and liver diseases. U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks the program as one of the best in the country for treating digestive and liver disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and liver, pancreatic and colorectal cancers. Alongside her clinical role, Dr. Glessing serves as an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Receiving her undergraduate degree from University of Notre Dame in 2002, she attended medical school at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Upon graduating with her medical degree in 2007, she went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in 2010. This was followed by fellowships in gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy at the University of Minnesota Medical Center – Fairview in 2013 and 2014, respectively. 

With an impressive professional journey, Dr. Glessing is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

In addition, she is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Glessing enjoys traveling, cooking, rock climbing, and reading.
