Get to know Vascular Surgeon Dr. Ronald A. Kline, who serves patients in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Kline is a fellowship-trained, board-certified vascular surgeon who is currently serving patients at Southwest Advanced Vascular Surgery & Integrated Wound Care in Tucson, Arizona. Southwest Advanced Vascular Surgery & Integrated Wound Care is a state-of-the-art practice offering a wide range of vascular surgical care, vascular testing, advanced wound care, and outpatient interventional procedures. With 26 years of experience and publications, the practice is recognized as a leader in the field of wound care. 

Dr. Kline is also affiliated with Northern Cochise Community Hospital in Willcox, Arizona.

Dr. Kline is the Director and Founder of the S.A.V.E. Foundation – an organization which promotes education and research in the fields of vascular disease and wound care. 

Dr. Kline is a leader in the field of salvage surgery, a nationally recognized authority on complex wound care, and a global authority in the area of vertebral artery surgery and brain blood flow. He has been named one of the country’s top vascular surgeons by the Consumers Research Council of America. 

Dr. Kline is the author of over 60 textbook chapters, research papers, and educational videos. He continues to publish, especially in the field of complex wound care. 

Dr. Kline is Chairman of the Southwest Annual Wound Care Symposium, which has been held in Tucson, Arizona. He continues to lecture locally and nationally in the areas of vascular surgery and wound care. 

Dr. Kline has held many positions throughout his career, including Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine (1991 – 2004), Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program at Wayne State University (2000-2003), Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona (2005-2006), and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at Midwestern University (2012-2018).

Dr. Kline is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and the American Chemical Society.

Dr. Kline received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1983. He completed his internship, residency in general surgery, and fellowship in vascular surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. 

Dr. Kline is board-certified in vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, or arteries, veins and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.
