Tariq Shafi, MD, earned his medical degree in 1985 from Eugenio Maria De Hostos Community College in the Dominican Republic. He continues his medical training in this country at The Whole Health Center in Texas, a private practice of Dr. Gilbert Manso. Dr. Shafi is Dr. Manso's main assistant. Under Dr. Manso's direct supervision, teaching and training, Dr. Shafi has become well-known in the Holistic and Alternative medical community. Wanting to be a healer and caring for his patients, he says, are instrumental to his success. Dr. Shafi also works as a Professor of Anatomy and Physiology at Houston Community College.
