With comprehensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of general dentistry, Dr. Tchakarova tends to patients’ dental needs at her private practice, Columbia Prime Dental, located in Elkridge, Maryland.
“Our focus is on the health and well-being of the community, which is why we believe high-quality, affordable dentistry should be easily available to everyone. For many, the expense, discomfort, and anxiety associated with a trip to the dentist’s chair is enough to keep them away until a minor problem becomes one that requires costly and uncomfortable treatments. We work to provide a positive, relaxing experience for the entire family, making it more likely you’ll visit us when you need to and get a brighter, more confident smile as a result.” as stated on their website.
Originally from Bulgaria, Dr. Tchakarova graduated at the High Medical Institute in Sofia, obtaining her dental degree in 1993. After relocating to the United States, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree upon completion of three years of the Advanced Standing Program at University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She joined Dr. Gaitan’s dental practice in 1998 and then founded Columbia Prime Dental in 2011.
Every year, she attends numerous continuing education classes to stay current with the latest techniques in the field of dentistry. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Howard County Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Maryland State Dental Association.
Since 2014, Dr. Tchakarova has been involved with Donated Dental Services as a volunteer dentist, helping those who need it the most. Recognized as one of ‘America’s Top Dentists’, she attributes her success to hard work, dedication, and enjoying what she does.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Having been in private practice in Bulgaria and the United States, Dr. Tchakarova has acquired great experience working with multicultural patients. She is fluent in English, Bulgarian, and Russian.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her son, hiking, and dancing. Her favorite professional publication is the American Journal of Dentistry.
