Educated in Pakistan, Dr. Hussain graduated with his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in 1986. He then went on to perform his internship and residency at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York in 1993 and 1996, respectively. This was followed by three fellowships in gastroenterology at the University of Louisville in 1999, the University of Rochester in 2000, and Allegheny General Hospital in 2001.
Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Working hard to maintain a cutting edge knowledge of his field, Dr. Hussain is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG) and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
Additionally, he is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.
