Dr. Fisher is a board-certified neonatologist who is affiliated with Central Jersey Newborn Care in Skillman, New Jersey. Central Jersey Newborn Care is a full-service neonatology group consisting of board-certified professionals who strive to provide the highest quality care and reduce risk and stress for both newborns and their mothers.

Dr. Fisher is also affiliated with Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Clara Maass Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and Tower Health Medical Group.

Dr. Fisher earned her Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. She completed her residency through the Atlantic Health System, working at both Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ and Overlook Hospital-UMDNJ in Summit, NJ. She then went on to complete her fellowship at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. 

Dr. Fisher is board-certified in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The ABP is an independent and nonprofit organization and one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). 

Dr. Fisher is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). 

Dr. Fisher has received several awards throughout her line of work, including the Young Investigator Travel Award by the Pediatric Academic Societies, Best Oral Presentation Award from the New York Perinatal Society, as well as the Gloria O. Schrager, M.D. Pediatric Resident for Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Fisher’s areas of research include single-nucleotide polymorphism, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and enteral nutrition for the very-low-birthweight infant. Her favorite professional publication is the New England Journal of Medicine.

Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn infants, especially the ill or premature newborn. It is a hospital-based specialty, and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units. Neonatologists diagnose and treat newborns infants with breathing disorders, infections, birth defects or other conditions. They are trained to manage the medical care necessary for premature infants or critically ill newborns, especially coordinating any surgical procedures.
