Are there any symptoms that indicate high creatinine?
In most cases, elevated creatinine levels do not produce any symptoms. It is only in the case of advanced kidney disease such as CKD (chronic kidney disease) Stage 4 or 5 that symptoms can occur. Usually, the symptoms are not associated with pain. They are general symptoms that are associated with an overall "unhealthy" feeling such as shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and poor appetite. Since the kidneys are responsible for keeping the body's chemistry healthy, these symptoms are associated with the abnormalities that occur in the body when the chemistry is abnormal or if there is excessive fluid build-up in the case of shortness of breath. Many patients are not aware of the fact that they have early stage kidney disease because of the relative absence of any symptoms. READ MORE
