Dr. Vallabhan is a board-certified urologist representing the Lubbock Urology Clinic. He is the area’s first fellowship-trained robotic surgeon, leading the region in robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy using the da Vinci® Surgical System.
He and his Robotics Team have recently helped Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas achieve recognition as The Region’s Best Hospital for Prostate Cancer Surgery, according to US News and World Report.
In addition to pre-treatment consultation and post-treatment follow-up visits, services offered in his office in Lubbock include treatment for male and female urinary problems, impotence and infertility, bladder control and incontinence, prostate conditions, early detection and treatment for genital and urinary cancer, laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, vasectomies, and minimally invasive surgeries.
In regards to his educational background, Dr. Vallabhan graduated with his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center @ San Antonio Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine. He then went on to perform his residencies in surgery and urology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Finally, he did his fellowship training in Robotics and Minimally invasive urologic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit at the Vattikuti Urology Institute.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor attained board certification in urology through the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.
With patient referrals coming as far away as Kansas, Dr. Vallabhan practices in West Texas and New Mexico. He is affiliated with Covenant Medical Center-Lubbock, University Medical Center, Lubbock Heart and Surgical Hospital, Nor-Lea Hospital District, and Roosevelt General Hospital.
