J. Wayne Riggins, OD, MD, is on staff at Cape Fear Eye Associates in Fayetteville, North Carolina. With clinical interests in cataract, glaucoma, refractive and strabismus surgeries, he has a decorated military history as well. He was Chief of the ophthalmology department at the Womack Army Medical Center, and won awards for his work as a clinical instructor there. A Colonel in the US Army Reserves, he was the first to establish a treatment regimen in the Army for soldiers with myopia and astigmatism. A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he also performs Lasik surgeries, neonatal exams, and corneal transplant.
