Christopher James Varvis, MS(c), MD, FRCP(c), FCCP, is a retired professor of medicine from the University of Alberta in Canada.  In the past, Dr. Varvis served as Chairman of the Committee of Occupational Health and Safety, and was a speaker for the General Council of the Canadian Medical Association.  Dr. Varvis is a respirology specialist, which is the equivalent of pulmonology disorders.  These include diseases of the lung and bronchial tubes.  Before relocating to Alberta, Dr. Varvis completed residency and fellowship at Cleveland City Hospital, focusing on pathology and experimental medicine.  In 1972, he served as President of the Alberta Medical Association, and for the past 8 years was active in theGreek Orthodox Society of Edmonton and District. He served as President from 2006 t0 2008. Having Retired from Clinical Medicine in !999 at the age of 70 , he has continued in Administrative Medicine as a Consultant to the Government of Alberta to the Motor Vehicle Department dealing with Driver Fitness and Monitoring up to this time in 2017.
