Demetrios John Giokaris, MD, had a private practice in Chicago, Illinois.  The practice is a family practice, and a primary care facility.  Dr. Giokaris is an important figure in the Chicago medical community, also working at Chicago Methodist Hospital, and having med students rotate through his practice on a routine basis.  Before it closed, he was a Professor at Edgewater Hospital; and his contributions to the community were recognized by the Mayor of Chicago in 2000.  A native of Greece, Dr. Giokaris is currently the President of his village where he grew up.  He also hosts a Greek radio show, speaking to residents about disease prevention and other health topics, under an "Ask the Doctor" advice segment.
