Brynn E. Everist, MD
Allergist & Immunologist | Clinical & Laboratory Immunology
8340 Mission Rd Ste 212 Overland Park KS, 66206About
Dr. Brynn Everist is a Kansas City native who found her passion for the specialty of Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology several years after completing her residency. Following her training at Mayo Clinic, she worked in San Francisco, California, and was thrilled to return home to KC in 2014. While she loved the scope of her practice, she realized she wanted to become an authority in her favorite subspecialty and was delighted to join the KU Allergy/Immunology fellowship.
Dr. Everist’s mission is to improve the quality of her patients’ lives. She values her patients’ time and finds the most satisfaction in patient-centered care and strong patient-physician relationships. Patient feedback indicates that she is a good listener who takes time to understand her patient’s symptoms and unique lifestyles. Dr. Everist thinks this is the critical step to finding the equally unique treatment plan that will be easiest and most beneficial for each patient to successfully adopt.
When not in the office, Dr. Everist enjoys spending time with her husband (a musculoskeletal radiologist at KUMC), and their three children. In addition to family time, she enjoys a variety of hobbies, including running, cooking, traveling, entertaining at home, sewing, and gardening.

A dedicated allergist & immunologist, Dr. Everist will soon be opening her private practice in Prairie Village, Kansas. Her primary goal is to improve the quality of life for her patients. She places a high value on her patients’ time, and finds the greatest satisfaction in providing patient-centered care and fostering strong physician-patient relationships.
Her patients appreciate her listening skills and ability to take the time to understand their unique symptoms and lifestyles. This approach allows her to tailor treatment plans to the individual, ensuring that they are effective, safe, and easy to adhere to.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Dr. Everist’s educational path took her to Boston College (B.A. in Theology), back to Kansas City (M.D. at The University of Kansas School of Medicine), off to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (Residency in Pediatrics), and back again to Kansas City (The University of Kansas, Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology). Also along that path was time practicing pediatrics in San Francisco as husband (another KU School of Medicine grad) completed his training in musculoskeletal radiology. Since the prairie has always called her back, Dr. Everist has decided that it would be fitting to name her practice “Prairie Allergy”.
Subsequent to her education, Dr. Everist attained board certification in allergy & immunology through the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology.
Allergy and immunology involves the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from very common problems (hay-fever, food allergies, and asthma) to very rare conditions (congenital immunodeficiencies). Whether common or rare, allergy and immunological disorders are frequently chronic and always frustrating. They span all ages and affect multiple organ systems. This is why Dr. Everist believes that a therapeutic plan must be personalized to include lifestyle, life plans, and the broad picture of your health.
In order to remain up to date in her field, Dr. Everist is an active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and is a board member of the Greater Kansas City Allergy Society.
Dr. Everist is also deeply committed to charitable and philanthropic endeavors. She has traveled on multiple medical missions to countries such as Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, and Zambia.
When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, who is a musculoskeletal radiologist at KUMC, and their three children. In her free time, she enjoys a variety of hobbies, including running, cooking, traveling, entertaining at home, sewing, and gardening.
