Jose J. Norberto, MD, is Director of Cardiac Surgery at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio. Specializing in thoracic surgeries, Dr. Norberto also has special interest in valvular surgery, ie treating a patient with mitral valve disease.  In 1999, he was the first Dominican to do a heart transplant.  He runs a non-profit international cardiac care foundation, which conducts missions to the Dominican Republic doing free heart surgery for those who can't afford it.  International mission work is a big part of Dr. Norberto's career as well as working at Fairfield.
