Get to know Internist Dr. Katherine A. Gold, who serves patients in Brooklyn, New York City. 

Dr. Gold is an internist who is currently serving patients at My Doctor Gold: Debevoise Health Care Center in New York City, which is a full service internal medicine clinic that offers a safe and effective environment to manage all disease conditions. Dr. Gold is also affiliated with Woodhull Medical Center. Branded as NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, Woodhull Medical Center is a health care system located in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

Dr. Gold earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her internship at St. John’s Catholic Hospital. Dr. Gold is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Gold is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. In recognition of her exceptional performance as an internist, she has been honored with the Physician’s Recognition Award in 2011. 

Dr. Gold began working as an internist after residency, however, she wanted to combine her eastern roots with her western medical education so she enrolled at New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, Long Island to study acupuncture and oriental medicine. This provided her with the opportunity to expand her practice, thereby allowing her to take a more integrated approach to her patient-centered care. 

Internal medicine or general medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
