Board-certified psychiatrist Dr. Dines is currently affiliated with University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, where he holds numerous positions, including Associate Professor, Medical Director of Geriatric Psychiatry, Program Director of Geriatric Psychiatry, and Medical Director of Inpatient Neurogeropsychiatric Service.

Throughout the course of his education, he earned his medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1977. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in psychiatry at University Hospitals of Cleveland, followed by his fellowship in biological psychiatry at the same medical complex in 1989.

A Lifetime Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Dr. Dines is board-certified in psychiatry general and geriatric psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to diagnosing, preventing, and treating mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists are medical doctors, unlike psychologists, and must evaluate patients to determine whether their symptoms are the result of a physical illness, a combination of physical and mental ailments, or strictly psychiatric. They are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems.
