Dr. Khan is a seasoned interventional cardiologist at Desert Cardiovascular Consultants in Las Vegas, Nevada, his private practice established in 2006. His hospital affiliations include the University Medical Center, the Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, the Southern Hills Hospital & Medical Center, the Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, the Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, and the Valley Hospital Medical Center.

“I strive to give caring personalized care to my patients . I try to get to know my patients as well as possible so I may deliver patient specific cardiac care . I want my patients to think of desert cardiovascular as a second home where they can bring health problems and feel free to communicate with us . We have tried over the years to keep most testing within our office to ensure quality care in reading of the tests. We accommodate for the patient’s lifestyle in setting up appointments”, says Dr. Khan about his philosophy of care. 

Born in India and raised in Zambia, Africa, Dr. Khan received his medical degree at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Aligarh Muslim University  in Aligarh, India. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his internal medicine residency in 1993 at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. In 1996, he finished his cardiovascular disease medicine at the same educational venue, followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Louisville. 

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology.

Dr. Khan conducted research in the field of molecular cardiac physiology and trained in cardiac transplant. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, of which he is also a professional member. A member of the American Medical Association, Dr. Khan heads a charitable foundation, supporting  just causes anywhere in the world. Extensively involved in philanthropic work, Dr. Khan was voted a Las Vegas Top Cardiologist in 2016 and is the recipient of the OCA Asian American Pacific Islander ICON Award and the Man of the Year Award in 2007 by Catholic Charities of Nevada.
