Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Vera A. Meier-Bennett, who serves patients in Arizona.
Dr. Meier-Bennett is a pediatrician serving Arixona and it’s community. She currently practices with her private practice, Pediatric MultiCare West, there they take great pride in seeing most of their sick kiddo’s the same day they receive the call.
Originally, Dr. Vera Bennett is from New Jersey and a graduate of UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1991. Upon graduating she remained in New Jersey where she started both a family and a thriving pediatric practice.
However, upon a visit to the white mountains with her four children years ago, she immediately knew that this was where she wanted to live. Her passion for animals, nature, and living the country lifestyle consumed her, so with much sorrow and anticipation, the family started life here in the beautiful white mountains.
While this decision may have left much sadness for her patients in New Jersey, as the only board-certified pediatrician in the entire show low area, this community has certainly welcomed her.
When Dr. Bennett is not putting in long hours at the office, she is enjoying time with her kids, her goats, and even the few peacocks she has running around. The animals seem to provide tranquility from the stressful life her career choice comes with.
Dr. Bennett got into pediatric medicine because of her selfless love of children, and that’s certainly clear to all who know her. As a result, she has focused much of her career on babies, since they have no voice of their own. She understands and encourages the countless benefits a nursing mother provides her child, and she can be an invaluable resource for those who may be having difficulty in this area.
The office has an entire room dedicated to nursing moms and their families. There is a lovely and large room that is set up as a nursery just to ensure that every mom can feel comfortable and safe when feeding, or learning how to nurse. Naturally, this newborn care also includes circumcision, as many new moms prefer to have the extra skin removed for a variety of reasons. Dr. Bennett has been performing these procedures since graduating from medical school well over twenty years ago, and you can be assured your little guy is in great hands!
Additionally, Dr. Meier-Bennett is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The ABP aims to promote excellence in medical care for children and adolescents. Certification represents a dedication to the highest level of professionalism in patient care. ABP certification provides a standard of excellence by which the public can select pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Meier-Bennett diagnoses and treats infections, injuries, diseases and other disorders in children. She is the only board-certified pediatrician in both Navopache and Apache County.
