  • How can I differentiate between implantation bleeding and periods?

    Implantation bleeding is caused when an embryo settles into the uterus. It is usually light bleeding that may last for a day or two. Normal periods last from 2 to 10days. If you experience bleeding that is very light and lasts only a short time then it may be implantation bleeding. READ MORE

  • Bed rest

    "Bed rest" in pregnancy is rarely indicated any more. Generally it means resting and not being on your feet more than 15 minutes out of the hour. Studies have shown it doesn't help prevent preterm labor, preeclampsia or miscarriage. READ MORE

  • Skin rash during pregnancy?

    There are several rashes in pregnancy. One is called PUPP. It is a rash that is mainly on the abdomen and is very itchy. It usually occurs later in pregnancy. At 4 months I'm not sure what the rash is especially without seeing it. READ MORE

  • Why am I bleeding after my pap?

    Hi! If you are bleeding only occasionally with the pap this can be normal. When we collect the cells from the cervix, we usually use a small broom. This can sometimes cause some bleeding. I assume you have abnormal paps because you are getting them every 6 months. If you have an infection of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), this also can cause you to bleed with your pap or with sex.
