Should you go to a psychiatrist for ADHD?
definitely yes. There are numerous options this days for the treatment of ADHD, incuding control and non control options (two medications) available. It will be more reasonable to obtain treatment by specialist-psychiatrist to make determination, which medications and in what dose could be more appropriate. Usually pediatrician aware about basic options, but any newest treatment modalities may not known to pediatrician or there is not that much experience with either of them, READ MORE

Should I see a doctor for panic attacks?

Should I go to the hospital for an anxiety attack?
I think that going to the hospital is counterproductive, instead you need to go to see psychiatrist and this days a lot of practices doing telepsychiatry which is less time consuming and productive. Doctor you will be able to see, will go with you through the medications options and psychotherapy options. The model of the inpatient hospitalizations in the modern psychiatry wouldn't allow enough time to the hospital and in my opinion other than frustrating experience, you wouldn't be able to earn anything else. Does taking antidepressants for years negatively affect your brain?
I don't think so. Realistically if your son need it, better to take medications than not. Antidepressant has very specific mechanism of actions and if there is deficit in the brain of serotonin, norepinephrine or other neurotransmitters, I think it will be detrimental not to take medications. Those medications at least able to maintain level of the important chemical under certain controlled level instead of having defficit of them with the high probability of the unpredictable consequences. Any medications has side effects, however if your son tolerated medications well, it is my strong advise to continue them without interruption. There is old student postulate: if the 1 episode of the problem happened-take medications for 9 month, if 2 episodes happened-take medications for 5 years, if more than 2 episodes-take medications indefinitely. Do Parkinson's patients experience high levels of depression?
I think that answer to your question is yes. Slowly progressive deterioration and worsening of the motor functional abilities definitely contribute to the overall self esteem and perception of the self and subsequent limitations and loosing independence in the functioning frequently contributing to the worsening of the emotional instability and development of the depressive symptoms.
