  • How can I manage my child’s dental health yet allow him to eat sweets?

Most children love a chocolate treat! Sugar and acetic foods are the leading cause of cavities in children. You can prevent cavities by allowing the child to have the chocolates as occasional treats rather than a daily routine. Also, brush their teeth thoroughly once they are done eating! READ MORE

  • I had a root canal and the same tooth is hurting again. What should I do?

Pain after a root canal could be indicative of several issues. If the root canal was done 3 months ago, I would highly suggest you find a Dentist for an exam. There are many reasons why a tooth would hurt after a RCT (Root Canal Therapy) procedure, some of the reasons could be because the RCT was done poorly, the tooth may have fractured, or as simple as your bite not being 100% aligned. I would highly recommend seeing a General Dentist. READ MORE

  • Are cavities possible in baby teeth?

Yes, absolutely. Any teeth, baby, adult or even pet teeth are susceptible to cavities! If you feel as if your child has a cavity, bring them in to either your Pediatric Dentist or a General Dentist! READ MORE

  • I had a root canal and the area still hurts. Is something wrong?

After a root canal procedure is done, you might experience discomfort for up a week. On the first couple days your pain will be mild, and the last couple of days the discomfort will have peaked, meaning you might feel a sensation in that tooth a little bit more. If after 10 days, you are still having pain, go to a General Dentist. If there is throbbing, it could indicate there is still an infection, a Dentist will be able to write you a prescription for Antibiotics. READ MORE

  • Can cavities in one tooth affect other teeth as well?

A cavity does not spread. Each tooth would have its own cavity. An x-ray should be taken to see if there are any other teeth that might have a cavity. Sensitivity after a filling is normal, and often goes away on its own after a couple of days. If you notice the sensitivity is still there after a week, you should contact a General Dentist. • What should I do for my chipped tooth?

This happens very often! As we age, our teeth become more brittle and chip easily. Luckily, it is a very easy fix. I would recommend seeing a General Dentist with cosmetic experience. It could be as easy as placing Bonding, or even placing a Veneer. READ MORE

  • How can I prevent yellowing of my teeth?

We get this complaint a lot in my office. As we age, our teeth are more easily stained. Staining is caused by drinking coffees, teas, red wine. Depending on how deep the stain is, your Hygienist at your Dentists' office should be able to clean it. If it is a more intrinsic stain, you might consider in-office bleaching, or veneers. If you do drink a lot of coffee or tea, try drinking through a straw. While it does not completely prevent staining, it does help! READ MORE
