Rush Medical Group Primary Care is a division of H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital, which is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Quitman, Mississippi, that provides a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. Patients can be admitted to the hospital if their medical needs make that the best option. A variety of other services are available on an inpatient and outpatient basis through the hospital’s imaging, laboratory and rehabilitative services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Attributing his success to his perseverance, Dr. Mutziger is affiliated with Rush Foundation Hospital and Laird Hospital, as well as serves as an Associate Professor of Family Practice at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
To advance his efforts, he remains an active member of the Mississippi State Medical Association, the Mississippi Chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (past president), and the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association (past president).
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Mutziger earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982. He then went on to complete his internship at KCU-GME Consortium.
A Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine, the doctor is board-certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
Furthermore, he is board-certified through the American Board of Addiction Medicine, whose mission is to promote the training and certification of an expanding number of physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of substance related disorders in order to help address the enormous public health burden presented by tobacco, alcohol, and other substance use disorders and related conditions.
