Spot in throat
This appears to be a very benign well encapsulated inclusion cyst of the posterior oropharynx. Sometimes the lymphoid tissue becomes covered over and leaves a cystic like area that does not get infected and does not need drainage or any procedure. As it has been present for more than 2 years, this can be observed. READ MORE

Superficial mucosal irritation should last 1-2 days and is treated with gentle cool water to calm down the rotation. No antibiotics are indicated at this time READ MORE
Throat pain?
This appears to be a small ulcer characteristic of a small canker sore. These are highly painful giving rise to referred ear pain and discomfort. This is usually not streptococcal infection. It usually lasts 7-10 days and dissipates spontaneously. No antibiotics are indicated. Treatment with cool water rinses. READ MORE
Sinus infection?
Decongestant therapy is usually for the nasal and sinus congestion. It does not necessarily improve hoarseness and yes you may discontinue the decongestant therapy. READ MORE
Inconsistently timed 'pressure' in left ear. What could be the cause?
This may be typical of something we physician Sturm has eustachian tube dysfunction. This has to do with the pathway between the nose and the middle ear which can be improved with swallowing and yawning. READ MORE
There seem to be 2 bones in my thyroid/throat?
This looks like you have the normal "Adam's apple" and just below the area the beginning of the trachea is present with the cricoid cartilage. These are not bones but are cartilages of the voice box which are standard and not suggestive of any abnormality. READ MORE
Clogged right ear for 3 days?
Probable symptoms of eustachian tube dysfunction and some congestion in the space between the nose and ear. Trial some Valsalva-type maneuvers to help to unclog the ear. READ MORE
Popping ears?
Continue gentle Valsalva maneuvers along with the use of the ibuprofen. The symptoms will resolve in a few days or so. READ MORE
Taking medication for congestion and running nose?
Not a good idea to take pseudoephedrine while on antihypertensive medication. Better choice would be using diphenhydramine for the symptoms. READ MORE
Should I go to the ER?
Symptoms of possible tonsillitis and possible infectious mononucleosis will give rise to these problems. Primary CARE physicians can elucidate and also emergency room or urgent care can help to determine the etiology of the symptoms. READ MORE
Netty pot and filtered refrigerator water?
Recommendations are to utilize distilled water, which has been boiled and conserved. Filtered water through the refrigerator with adequate filtration is probably safe without concern of any parasites. READ MORE
Cold symptoms with a negative covid test?
Symptoms are compatible with that of a common upper respiratory presumed viral type infection, which may not be secondary to coronavirus. Standard precautions were utilized to prevent spreading any viral particles to others. Isolation is not necessarily mandated with the symptoms. With concerns about group A streptococcus causing other symptoms from the toxins that are elaborated. Non-group A can give rise to typical symptoms of sore throat irritation, which may last for several days, but still can be treated symptomatically and/or with antibiotics if needed. READ MORE

My throat hurts?
Symptoms may be typical of an acute inflammatory upper respiratory and oropharyngeal infection, presumed secondary to virus for which the voice issues and acute laryngeal irritation will tend to regress within several days. READ MORE
Should I go to an after hours clinic?
Great self photo! The throat has normal white spots and small lumps which are tiny lymph nodules possibly responding to a common upper respiratory inflammation such as a virus. Treat symptomatically with hydration and anti-inflammatories. READ MORE
