Get to know Physician Assistant Shasta R. Van Sickle, who serves the population of Colorado. Shasta completed her undergraduate degree with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with her Bachelor of Science with a focus on pre-med in 2004. Furthering her education she completed her Master of Science as a Physician Assistant from Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2008, giving her over a decade of experience in her field. Shasta is certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a National Certified Medical Examiner, as well as holding certification in Healthcare Information Technology. To stay up to date in her field she remains a professional member of the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants, American Society of Orthopaedic Physician’s Assistants, National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Shasta currently practices as a spine surgery physician assistant with Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center where she holds an expertise in orthopedics, injuries, neck pain, spine, emergency medicine, and laceration repair. Physician Assistant’s are healthcare professionals who assists physicians in the practice of medicine as a part of a healthcare team while collaborating physicians and other providers. Physician Assistants are concerned with preventing and treating human illness and injury by providing a plethora of health care services under a supervising physician. Their scope of practice varies by jurisdiction and healthcare setting. Shasta attributes her professional success to her drive to continue to be successful. When she is not working she enjoys running, jogging, skiing, and playing basketball.
