Patrick John Dowling, MD, PhD, currently works in several community mental health programs located in the New Orleans, Louisiana region. With over 45 years of experience, Dr. Dowling has particular expertise and clinical interest in various branches of psychiatry; having completed an extensive education in the field. Well-versed in all three forms, Dr. Dowling attained certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in child, forensic, and general psychiatry. Forensic psychiatry, more specifically, providing determination of competency to stand trial?to a court of law to facilitate the adjudicative process. He has contributed numerous publications on his works, speaks within his community, and has been honored for his outstanding achievements with his patients. Dr. Dowling has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, as well as being named Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
