Get to know Phlebologist and Radiologist Dr. Bruce W. Cardone, who serves the population of Waukesha, Wisconsin. Dr. Cardone is a highly trained and qualified radiologist with a vast expertise in all facets of his work, especially ultrasound, CT, MRI, vascular and interventional radiology, and the treatment of Varicose Vein Disease. Dr. Cardone has been in practice for more than 28 years and is currently serving patients at Vena – The Varicose Vein Institute in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Dr. Cardone graduated with his Medical Degree in 1984 from the University of Torino, Turin, Italy, prior to training in General Surgery at St. Francis Medical Center. He then went on to complete his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, before undertaking his fellowship training in CT, MRI, and Ultrasound at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Cardone is Double Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology by The American Board of Radiology and in Phlebology by The American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in his field, Dr. Cardone maintains professional memberships with the American College of Phlebology, the American College of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Medical Association, the Wisconsin Medical Society, and the Wisconsin Radiological Society. Additionally, he has earned the coveted title of Diplomate of the American Board of Phlebology. Dr. Cardone attributes his successful career to his education and unwavering perseverance. Radiologists, use imaging to gather information about the structure and function of the human body that may be unavailable without surgery. They rely on penetrating radiation, such as X-rays, CT scans, and PET scans to diagnose diseases. They may also employ ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.
