He studied at the University of Kentucky and trained at the University of South Florida, University of California at Los Angeles, and The Mount Sinai Hospital. He is also fellowship trained in neuroradiology at Yale University, where he served as Chief of Neuro MRI & ENT Radiology. Certified by the American Board of Radiology - Radiology, he remains a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Voted among Americas Top Radiologists between 2002 and 2011, he was declared Teacher of the Year by Yale Department of Radiology (1989) and Teacher of the Year by the University of Central Florida (2013). Dr. Shapiro is also the Co-Editor MRI of the Head and Neck Volume Radiologic Clinics of North America, Co-Educator of Radiology Clinicians of North America, MRI of the Head and Neck, Imaging of the Spine of 3T Free Tesla, MRI of the Spine, Author of 3T Spine Imaging, 2006 MRI Clinics of North America, invited lecturer on 3T MRI of the Brain and Spine: ISMRM, Berlin, Germany 2007, speaker at 2007- 2011 ASNR meetings, and author of chapter on 3T Imaging of the Spine 2012 Neuro Imaging Clinics N.A. edition on Applications of High Field Strength MRI in Neuroradiolology.

Dr. Marc Shapiro, MD is a Diagnostic Radiologist/Neuroradiologist practicing at Neuro Imaging in Florida. He attended medical school at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He’s achieving his goal with the addition of the Siemens Verio 32 Channel 3T MRI equipment installed in his facility.



Dr. Shapiro is a distinguished member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. He was elected Teacher of the Year by Yale Department of Radiology in 1989 and Teacher of the Year in University of Central Florida in 2013. As an author, Dr. Shapiro conducts research, writes, and publishes articles on 3T MRI in leading radiology journals.

Neuroradiology is the medical subspecialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of brain, spinal cord, head and neck, and vascular lesions using x-rays, magnetic fields, radio waves, and ultrasound. These forms of energy are harnessed with machines such as the CT (CAT) scanner, magnetic resonance (MR) scanner, and ultrasound machines.
