Joseph T. Jenkins, MD, FACS, is a general surgeon as well as the Founder of the Tri-State Vein Center, PC in Dubuque, Iowa. The center is a complete varicose vein treatment center that opened in January of 2011, while Dr. Jenkins has been serving the Tri-state area for over 15 years. His practice is now limited to the treatment of patients with varicose vein issues and venous reflux. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Jenkins attended the University of Iowa. His first year of surgical training was completed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. For the next 3 years, he acted as a General Medical Officer in Darmstadt, Germany. Upon his return to the United States in 1988, he went to the University of Iowa to complete his residency in general surgery. Dr. Jenkins spent the following year fulfilling his military obligation at Ft. Leonard Wood, and in 1994, he returned to Dubuque and practiced as a general surgeon with Dubuque Surgery, PC. Dr. Jenkins is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine and certified in general surgery by the American Board of General Surgery. He also continues to provide surgical care for individuals needing hemodialysis access due to kidney failure. He maintains his active privileges at Mercy Medical Center Dubuque, Unity Point Health, and the Finley Hospital.
