Get to know Family Physician Dr. Bradley M. Smith, who serves patients in Chico, California.

With more than three decades of experience in his field, Dr. Smith is a family physician whose clinical interests include sports medicine/orthopedics, aesthetic dermatology, medical group management, healthcare administration, and electronic medical records. Specializing in acute care and urgent care, he is the Owner and President of Immediate Care Medical Center in Chico, California. 

“At Immediate Care Medical Center we strive to provide rapid, cost-efficient, quality care for medical illnesses and injuries requiring immediate attention or management of chronic conditions. Our goal is to improve the health and wellness of patients in our community by providing patient-centered care that emphasizes respect and promotes patient-directed treatment” as stated on the practice’s website. 

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Smith completed his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Zoology at the University of California, Berkeley in 1977, followed by his medical degree at the University of California Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento in 1982. Thereafter, he went on to complete his internship and residency at the University of California, Davis.

Attributing his success to hard work, the doctor is passionate about and driven to create organizations that facilitate cost-effective health and wellness and, at the same time, emphasize strong social consciousness, excellent patient care, and ready access to urgent care and primary care. 

In order to stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the California Medical Association.

Family medicine, formerly family practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. They are expected to treat a wide range of medical conditions, develop long-term, personal relationships with their patients, produce individualized healthcare programs based on patient historical data, and offer continuous support and health management advice.
