C. Marila Taveras, MD, FAAP, practices pediatrics at Tooele Pediatrics in Utah. The only Spanish speaking pediatrician in the area, Dr. Taveras offers her Spanish-speaking patients care that is geared towards their needs. Dr. Taveras began working as a Psychotherapist, and then relocated to New York City, where she attended Columbia University, studying obesity and publishing many articles regarding hormonal changes in obesity. Her studies there, guided her to the field of pediatrics. For all of her outstanding work with the young patients she was named Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. An advocate for education, Dr. Taveras is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Utah; additionally being on staff as an attending physician at the Primary Children's Medical Center.
