As the Director of the Center for Female and Male Sexual Medicine in Millburn, New Jersey, which is a part of New Jersey Urology, he brings technology, procedural know-how, and a wealth of experience to design a restoration program that far exceeds patient expectations.

Recognized as a leading expert in the area of sexual medicine, his areas of expertise cover erectile dysfunction, including penile prosthesis and low-intensity shock wave treatment, men’s health, female sexual medicine, minimally invasive procedures for prostate enlargement, overactive bladder, prostate cancer, and spinal cord injury urology. 

In his current capacity, Dr. Shoengold also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, the Chairman of the Division of Urology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, the Director of Urology Education at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, a Urology Consultant at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, as well as a member of the Short Hills Surgery Center and The Stone Center of New Jersey. In addition, he is a past member of the Board of Directors of International Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) and is one of only 40 physician ISSWSH fellows in the United States.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology, whose mission is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, as well as to work with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care. Other membership includes the Sexual Medical Society of North America, the International Society of Sexual Medicine, the Society of Prosthetic Surgeons, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Essex County Medical Society, and the Association of Clinical Urologists.

On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Shoengold received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Rutgers University, where he was named Phi Beta Kappa and Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He completed his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he also finished his surgical and urology residencies. He has a subspecialty interest in female and male sexual medicine and has had preceptorships with Dr. Irwin and Andrew Goldstein.

Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system.
