    A cracked does not necessarily have to be extracted but it depends on what type of crack and the extent of the crack. Longitudinal crack are hard to diagnose and treatment is almost always extraction because there is usually nerve involvement. Horizontal cracks can be seen on X-ray can be treated depending on the location of the crack .
