Virginia Loewenstine MD is the CEO, Medical Director, and founder of Tristate Preventive Health Consultants (TPHC). She concurrently serves as National Medical Director for Givaudan Flavors and Fragrances Corporation.
Loewenstine earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, previously known as the Medical College of Ohio, and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She has over thirty years of experience in Occupational and Preventive Medicine. She is a long-standing member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the American Academy of Family Practice, the International Society of Travel Medicine, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
In addition, Loewenstine has received many honors throughout her career, most recently being named a Top 50 Women Leaders in Medicine for 2025 by Women We Admire Magazine and as a top doctor in the state by Best in Ohio Magazine for 2025. In addition, she has been voted as the Best Doc in Occupational and Preventive Medicine in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 by the readers of Cincy Magazine. In 2023, her firm, TPHC, was named a Top 10 Health Testing Services Provider in the U.S. by Manage HR Magazine. She authors a regular column entitled “Doc on Duty” in national firefighter lifestyle magazine Crackyl.
Loewenstine recently established and leads one of the few employer-based chapters of the national program “Walk with the Doc” at the Cincinnati facilities of Givaudan. She was also named to America’s Top Physicians by the Consumer Research Council of America and was recently inducted into the Leading Physicians of the World. In 1999, former First Lady, Barbara Bush, presented Loewenstine with the Regional Healthcare Provider "Spirit of Women" Award as the area’s first recipient. She is also one of the select few healthcare providers in the world to hold a Certificate of Knowledge in Travel Health.
With a focus on improving the wellbeing of First Responders with an emphasis on early cancer detection and overall health, she is an avid educator and resource to Fire Departments and area employers. Loewenstine presents the latest in medical research and testing advancements to assist Fire Departments in the design of their annual physical programs. She also provides oversight to corporate Emergency Response Teams and mentoring to physician assistants, nurse practitioners and on-site industrial nurses.
