Internal medicine or general medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall wellbeing. “I believe that time, while not the most sophisticated diagnostic tool, is the most important resource I have in caring for my patients. As an internal medicine doctor, time is my most valuable resource. Illness is much more complex than a series of lab or x-ray findings. It is rather a disturbance that is interwoven into the fabric of a person’s life” as stated by Dr. Childs.
Dr. Childs’ keen interest in medicine stemmed from his young love of science combined with his natural ability and desire to selflessly take care of others. He attributes his success to his determination to never compromise his values and his commitment to always putting the welfare of his patient first.
In his spare time, Dr. Childs enjoys spending quality time with his family while preparing for his next adventures traveling.
