He completed his internship at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia, after which he went on to complete his residency in anesthesiology and his fellowship in pain medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While pursuing his fellowship, he concurrently completed a fellowship in health care management at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Committed to patient-centered care, Dr. Baylor is in constant pursuit of knowledge to expand his offerings. He is dedicated to teaching and has served as an Associate Professor of Anesthesia Pain Management at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia since 2007. Additionally, he has proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve for 23 years and retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel in 2013.

A member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. Moreover, he is board-certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine, whose mission is to improve the quality of pain medicine. Both boards are a part of the 24 medical specialty boards that constitute the American Board of Medical Specialties.
