Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Oklahoma, he maintains hospital affiliations with SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Oklahoma City.

After earning his medical degree at the University of Aleppo Faculty of Medicine in Aleppo, Syria, in 1980, Dr. Al-Khouri relocated to the United States, where he completed his psychiatry residency at the University Hospital & Clinics (1992 – 1996). 

Dr. Al-Khouri became board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1980. The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN) is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 1934 as a method of identifying the qualified specialists in psychiatry and neurology. The ABPN is one of 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
