Leander K. Lee received his medical degree in 1980 from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He subsequently trained at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Lee is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology. He holds professional memberships with the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, the Missouri Society of Anesthesiologists, the Anesthesia Associates of St. Louis, and the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society. He is an exceptionally experienced cardiothoracic anesthesiologist who has been practicing for over 30 years and is currently serving patients at West County Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Inc in St. Louis, Missouri. Furthermore, he is on staff at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, which is locally known as MoBap. The center specializes in cancer treatment, women’s health, cardiac care and other medical services. One of the highlights of Dr. Lee’s career was being Chief Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Cardiothoracic anesthesiology is a subspeciality of the medical practice of anesthesiology dedicated to the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care of adult and pediatric patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery and related invasive procedures. As a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, Dr. Lee is responsible for monitoring the patient’s physical condition through the use of invasive monitors, in addition to keeping an eye on their bodily reactions to drugs needed during a surgical procedure. He attributes his success to hard work and dedication. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and collecting wine.
