Get to know Physician Assistant, Katherine M. Miller, who serves patients in Waupaca, Wisconsin.

A board-certified physician assistant, Katherine is in practice at ThedaCare Physicians – Waupaca in Wisconsin. As a physician assistant, she enjoys the diversity that comes with treating multiple generations. Teamwork is the approach she takes to create partnerships and provide the level of thorough, individualized care patients deserve.

A Wisconsin native, she is honored to serve the people of Waupaca County. Being able to work in a small community setting gives her the opportunity to build close relationships with each patient and provide personalized care for the whole family.

In regards to her educational background, Katherine completed her post-graduate education at Concordia University in Wisconsin in 2015.

As a testament of her continued education, she is board-certified by the National Commission of Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA). The NCCPA is the only certifying organization for physician assistants in the United States. Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1974, it provides certification programs that reflect standards for clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning and other medical skills and professional behaviors required upon entry into practice and throughout the careers of physician assistants.

A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians.  PAs are medical professionals, educated in the medical model to complement physician training, and assist the physician in many aspects of the practice. PAs are trained to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery.
