Get to know Family Medicine Physician Dr. Kimmie S. Ouchi, who serves the population of Hawaii.
Dr. Ouchi is a board certified Family Medicine Physician currently practices with Hawaii Permanente Medical Group Lahaina Clinic. Kaiser Permanente has been providing health care for more than 60 years. Working with the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group has given her the opportunity and resources to help her do my job right in a highly supportive and innovative environment. She really appreciates that her colleagues have a shared vision of promoting health and wellness throughout her island communities.
Dr. Ouchi graduated from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine in 2000, giving her nearly two decades of experience in her field. She then completed her Family Practice Residency training at UC Davis.
Dr. Ouchi was born and raised in Lahaina, Maui and was happy to return after completing her medical training. Dr. Ouchi was inspired by her family physician who maintained wonderful patient relationships and delivered great care to their small island community.
Dr. Ouchi is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Founded in 1969, ABFM is a not-for-profit, private organization whose mission is to improve the health of the public through Board Certification, Residency Training, Research, Leadership Development, and promoting the development of the specialty of Family Medicine. As of summer 2018, ABFM has more than 92,000 Diplomates and is the third largest of 24 boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Through ABMS, the specialty boards work together to establish common standards for physicians to achieve and maintain board certification.
When not working she enjoys playing tennis and is an active member of the United States Tennis Association, and competes in league tennis regularly. Additionally, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
