He is the CEO of Straun Health & Wellness (SHAW) with offices in Berlin and Stamford, Connecticut.

Utilizing holistic approaches to wellness and recovery, Dr. Straun subscribes to the belief that treatment and service must go beyond the personal and reach neighborhoods and communities in order to make deeper, more impactful change. “Straun Health & Wellness works with individuals possessing a wide range of behavioral and emotional disorders and believes that psychiatric evaluation, in addition to complementary therapeutic approaches (medication, counseling/psychotherapy), provide the best outcomes for patients. In a supportive and compassionate environment, SHAW clinicians will work with you as a unique individual to address all of your concerns” as stated by Dr. Straun.

Dedicated to excellence, he is board-certified in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). His primary modes of service include psychiatric evaluation, a complementary style of psychotherapy, and medical management of individuals suffering from mental illness and substance use disorders. He subscribes to a balanced approach to treatment, going beyond symptom relief and seeking to help patients find ways to revitalize their lives so that they are able to thrive in all of their endeavors.

With a wide-ranging skill set and a focus on patient-centered care, Dr. Straun is also part of a counseling team that provides grief counseling services in small group settings to clients of Howard K. Hill Funeral Home.
