  • Recovery after surgery?

Hello, there is a lot of I formation I do not have about this since I do not know the site of the operation. My best advice is to contact the surgeon at once and if you do not get any help from them go to The emergency room, not an urgent care, and get an evaluation there. READ MORE

  • Symptoms following bilateral inguinal hernia surgery?

Hello. well first of all, did you ask your surgeon about this? They are in a better position to answer this question than I am because they know what procedure was used for your repair. I doubt that it was a lymph node it is more likely a stitch or staple and there can be simple ways to fix this. Contact your surgeon for help with this matter. READ MORE

  • Can hernia mesh push through skin?

Hello, there are times when the mesh can come out, but as I tell most people I need a bit more information before I can comment on your particular case, your best approach is to go see your surgeon and have them see and test you for what is going on. READ MORE

  • 325 mg of Hydrocodone is not cutting the pain?

Hello, the 325 is the amount of Tylenol in the drug the amount of hydrocodone is either 5,7.5 or 10. The problem with damaged nerves is that they hurt and there are no good ways to help with this. He should be seeing his back surgeon or a pain doctor for help. Sometimes it is the arteries that are the source of the nerve damage.  He needs to be evaluated by a provider that can look into the issues that can be the cause of this problem, just throwing pills at it is not the best idea. I am sorry that he finds himself in this situation, but the best way forward is to get a full evaluation of the cause. • Could my medical problems be due to my past hysterectomy?

Hello, this is not my field and a gynecologist or a rheumatologist is a better person to answer this question for you and recommend a course of treatment for you to follow. Make an appointment with one of these specialties to help you to get a handle on this. READ MORE

  • Can I still ride a motorcycle?

This is best answered by your surgeon for your neck and back. READ MORE

  • Is this a hernia?

Hello, I cannot quite tell from the photo if this is already an abscess or not but go to your provider or urgent care and get it treated before it gets worse. READ MORE

  • I had a bilateral inguinal hernia?

Hello, well at six weeks you should be recovered from your surgery. The lump/mass you describe could be from a recurrence or a fluid collection. You should call your surgeon and get examined by them and get their opinion. There is nothing that I can tell without examining you. If they will not see you try an urgent care. READ MORE

  • Weird stool?

Hello, well it may be nothing or it may be some narrowing. The best thing to do is to get to see a gastroenterologist and get a colonoscopy. Contact your primary care provider and have them refer you for this. READ MORE

  • Fibrous healing of broken neck?

Hello, well at her age with a non-union she should probably continue to wear a brace when out for protection. An orthopedic neurosurgeon can give you better advice about this, and maybe an endocrinologist or rheumatologist can do something about her bone growth. If she has not been seen at a university center that may be of benefit for her situation. READ MORE

  • What are the risks involved in heart stent surgery?

You should ask the provider to do the procedure. READ MORE

  • What anesthesia is selected for hemorrhoid surgery?

Hello well, I usually have my patients under general anesthesia, but spinal is also an option.  The anesthesia provider can go into detail with you about this. READ MORE

  • Repetitive abscess?

Hello, this is not an easy situation. I assume that they have drained these recurrent abscesses by putting a tube into them while you are getting a CT scan.  there may be an infected suture present or other foreign body. If there is not an infectious disease expert on your case you should get one to help out with this.  It could also be that the drainage tubes are removed too early. If possible I would recommend that you go to a University hospital to get this treated the next time it comes up/ develops. There is much information that I do not have related to this situation and thus I can offer no more than this. READ MORE

  • When can I go to the gym after inguinal hernia surgery?

Hello, you need to ask your surgeon but typically 4-6 weeks. READ MORE

  • Car accident knee question?

Hello, you have an injury and should go to your primary provider, an orthopedist, or urgent care. This needs to be evaluated and X-rays are the only way to start with this. READ MORE

  • Urgent situation?

Hello, this sounds like a terrible situation. If he has a bad heart or lungs that would make him a poor candidate for surgery, also if he has had radiation to this area. There may be more factors that I am not aware of that make this a bad choice. You need to find another surgeon at a different hospital to get a fresh set of eyes on this. READ MORE

  • Is stent placement risky?

Hello, there is always some risk with any procedure but the risks from a heart cath and stent placement are very low.  You may have some discomfort at the site they enter the artery, but this is a well-practiced procedure and the risks are low. READ MORE

  • Pain near ribcage?

Hello, it could be inflammation where the rib and cartilage meet or it could be pleurisy, or it could be a few other things. You need to be seen by your primary care provider and be examined to determine the source. READ MORE

  • Belly button discharge following appendix surgery?

Hello, this is one of 2 things I think. You are probably "spiting" a stitch or you have a foreign body reaction to something in the wound at your belly button. I would go back to the surgeon and have them take a look at this or if they cannot help you go to a wound clinic for this. When you talk to the surgeon make sure to ask if the appendix was taken. READ MORE

  • Abdominal pain?

Well, chronic pain does not cause flatulence. This could be a small hernia or it could be from adhesions if you have had prior abdominal surgery. You should be seen by your primary doctor and have them evaluate it, or maybe a gastroenterologist. READ MORE
